Peter Crouch makes his Liverpool-Man City prediction and states the crucial area that will decide the result

Peter Crouch is in no doubt that the Reds will beat Manchester City on Sunday afternoon, stating that Jurgen Klopp’s men are in the better form at the moment and that a nine-point lead could be about to open up.

Crouch, like many people watching on, has not been impressed with the defending from Pep Guardiola’s side so far this season, and with Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah to contend with, he believes they might struggle.

Usual goalkeeper Ederson is also expected to be missing through injury, meaning second choice Claudio Bravo, who was sent off for a rash challenge during the Champions League game against Atalanta on Wednesday night, will have to start.

Writing for the Daily Mail, Crouch said: “I don’t expect to see anything other than entertainment at Anfield – and, in all honesty, I don’t see anything other than Liverpool winning.

“I look at the issues they have at centre-back and wonder how Nicolas Otamendi and John Stones will contain Salah, Firmino and Mane. [Liverpool] have a golden opportunity to put City under intolerable pressure.”

The game is going to be a tight one but the Reds should be very confident of getting the three points. Win, and they would have a significant lead in the Premier League table even at this stage of the season. Draw, and the six-point difference that currently exists will still be intact.

It’s all set up to be a brilliant game of football, and there should be plenty of goals.
