Lyon and Netherlands winger Memphis Depay has been linked with a move to the Reds on numerous occasions and is being considered by Michael Edwards and co once again, according to Calciomercato.

He was first linked with making a switch to Anfield when he opted for Old Trafford in 2015, where it certainly did not go to plan, before he moved to Ligue 1.

Since signing for Lyon, Depay has netted at a rate of more than one in two, scoring 41 times in 79 appearances for the French side, according to Soccer Base.

If the Reds are looking for attacking reinforcements, Jadon Sancho would seem like a more likely player to go for. The Dortmund winger is a confirmed target for the club next summer.

Kylian Mbappe, another player who currently plies his trade in France, is another who the Reds would love, though Jurgen Klopp has said that won’t be happening due to the finances that would be involved.

The only thing clear at this stage is that fans should expect a signing to bolster the front three in the summer of 2020. Until further details are outlined, expect plenty of links to various options.
