Roy Keane alerted Vincent Kompany in the studio following our 3-1 victory yesterday that Manchester City aren’t the only side who’ve picked up injuries…
The former Sky Blue was claiming Liverpool have got lucky with our fitness and could fall away from the top of the table if we pick some up, but Keane reminded him that we were without our first-choice goalkeeper, Alisson, for the majority of the season.
“They lost their Goalkeeper during the first game of the season and he was out for 8 games,” he told Kompany, who’d just claimed we could fall into ‘trouble’ should players get crocked.
You can watch the full video below, which includes the opinions of Jose Mourinho and Graeme Souness, via Sky Sports:
We were also without one of our best defenders yesterday in Joel Matip, so the rhetoric that City are threadbare and we’re at full strength isn’t entirely true.
Still, Kompany has a point in that if we lose a number of our forwards over the festive period we could struggle for goals – but having said that – we beat Barcelona at Anfield last season 4-0 without Mo Salah or Roberto Firmino!
Many Liverpool fans on Twitter also spotted Keane’s comment and spoke abut it:

Kompany saying see what happens when Liverpool get injuries. Keane points out were without first choice keeper for most of season. Not to mention first choice centre half currently. STFU Kompany!
