Andy Robertson pulls out of Scotland squad with ankle injury

Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson has pulled out of Scotland’s squad ahead of their UEFA EURO qualifying fixtures against Cyprus and Kazakhstan.

No official reason was given as to why the Scot’s skipper has bowed out of the team, with Reds supporters now worried he may have picked up an injury.

These worries were  confirmed by The Athletic reporter James Pearce, shortly after the announcement.

Following Robbo back to their respective clubs are Liam Cooper, Scott McTominay and Liverpool-linked Ryan Fraser.

As was the case with our man, no reason has been given yet as to why the trio won’t be travelling with the national team.

Liverpool are set to face Crystal Palace in the Premier League in just under two weeks, and the Reds will be hoping their star defender will be ready to go.

Another three points for Jurgen Klopp’s men will ensure they stay well clear at the top of the table, with Liverpool surely eyeing up staying there throughout winter and beyond.

Some Scotland fans aren’t happy with Robbo, seemingly saying he’s abandoned the team because he cares more about his club.

Either way, for better or worse, staunch Liverpool fans will be happy that there’s now no chance Robbo could further injure himself on international duty.
