Mo Salah posts ankle pic after report suggests he’ll be out for a month

We’re still in a very giddy mood following Liverpool’s victory over Manchester City last Sunday, in which goals from Fabinho, Mo Salah and Sadio Mane helped us beat our rivals 3-1 and establish an eight point lead at the top of the Premier League table.

But the nagging problem in the aftermath wasn’t the VAR nonsense circulated by the media, but Salah’s ankle issue.

Sky Sports today reported that the Egyptian would be given ‘an extended period of time off’ by the club in order to do his rehabilitation – although they didn’t specify the length of time he’ll be out of action for the first-team.

LFC blog Read Liverpool though were more bold in their prediction, stating: “We believe the Egyptian could miss three to four weeks of action.”

The article is penned by Henry Jackson, who’s well respected, too.

If Salah is out for four weeks he’ll miss games against Crystal Palace, Napoli, Brighton, Everton, Bournemouth and Red Bull Salzburg.

On paper, it’s a nice run of games, but we struggled against Manchester United this season without Salah’s dynamism and if he is absent, either Divock Origi or Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will have to seriously step up.

Salah posted a picture of his ankle getting treatment onto his Instagram story, today, but we’ve yet to hear official word from the club regarding an estimation of his return date – although Jurgen Klopp rarely gives one – anyway.

Here’s hoping Read Liverpool have underestimated Mo’s powers of recovery…
