Gerrard reacts to Carragher not selecting Suarez in his Premier League XI of the decade

Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has questioned why Jamie Carragher has excluded Luis Suarez from his ‘Premier League XI of the decade’.

The Sky Sports pundit had room for Eden Hazard, Gareth Bale and Sergio Aguero, but no space for the former Reds forward.

The Rangers boss was informed of Carra’s selections, and Gerrard said that he’d have picked Suarez for his team. “Interesting – he’d have been in mine,is what the Scouser is quoted as saying by the Mirror.

The Uruguayan scored 69 times in 110 appearances for Liverpool, but Carragher opted against including the controversial figure in his team.

Gary Neville was also asked to do the same thing – but the former Manchester United star did have space in his team for Suarez.

The fellow Sky Sports pundit went for the former Liverpool man alongside Aguero and Tottenham hit man Harry Kane.

Neither of them selected Gerrard, but the midfielder’s best years were behind him by the second half of this decade – the same reason players like Frank Lampard didn’t feature for either.

Both of them went for Manchester City duo David Silva and Yaya Toure, whereas Carra opted for N’Golo Kante and Neville bizarrely lashed Hazard into a central midfield role.

I wonder why he didn’t succeed as a manager?!
