Brazilian newspaper picks an unbiased World XI and it’s actually spot on for once

All of a sudden, we have a lot of time for Brazilian newspaper Globo Esporte.

Time and time again, we see bogus World XIs produced – especially during official awards ceremonies – actually.

For example, the FIFPRO World XI this year included Marcelo at left-back and Sergio Ramos in central midfield, which is a complete and utter disgrace considering their respective seasons at Real Madrid.

Who could argue though with Globo’s, shown in the tweet below?

Not only does it feature Liverpool’s best players, but there’s no place for Cristiano Ronaldo – who endured an average season individually despite his third-place Ballon d’Or finish.

We respect their inclusions of Kevin de Bruyne and Bernardo Silva from Manchester City, too – while appreciating goal-mad Robert Lewandowski up top.

In fact, we’re not sure there’s a single position we’d argue with.

Liverpool have a plethora of world-class players – that much has been established – but we now need to go on and win the Premier League to confirm their place in football history.
