Klopp explains Lovren’s injury on ‘All round nearly perfect day’

Jurgen Klopp has explained that Dejan Lovren was subbed off in the first-half due to what was ‘hopefully cramp’.

The Reds beat Bournemouth 3-0 at the Vitality in what was our easiest game of the season.

Goal reporter Neil Jones tweeted Liverpool’s manager’s comments on the Croatian’s early withdrawal after the game:

Joe Gomez did very well at centre-back after Lovren left the field, but with Joel Matip already crocked and Fabinho also a long-term absentee – we’d be down to just two senior centre-backs without him…

Klopp’s comments suggest he’ll be fine – if not on Tuesday for the Champions League – but by next weekend for the Watford clash.

It was great to see the Reds canter through the 90 minutes, in fairness. The players who needed goals (Naby Keita, Mo Salah) got them – which is great considering both have been suffering from niggling injuries.

Now, we need a point in Austria to confirm our passage into the CL Last 16, before we can hopefully teach Watford a footballing lesson next weekend.
