Liverpool speak to Brazilian wonderkid’s agent & could bring striker in to replace Rhian Brewster

Liverpool have already been in touch with the agents of Evanilson over a potential January switch, claims Brazilian outlet Netflu .

The striker is 20-years-old and currently plays for Fluminense, where he was top scorer in Brazil’s U20 league last season.

In fairness, he hasn’t done anything yet at first-team level, so his stock is not very high unlike some of the Brazilians who’ve recently transferred to Europe like Rodrygo, Vinicius Junior or Gabriel Barbosa a few years back.

The report says that we could acquire Evanilson for nothing, considering his contract is expiring in February 2020 – so the deal is a risk-free one.

Jurgen Klopp recently stated that we would need to bolster the squad if we allowed Rhian Brewster to leave on loan, with the teenager badly needing regular minutes somewhere

The boss told the Liverpool Echo: “Yes, we have to see. We can’t just give the boys [away] on loan because we have built this squad.”

For us, it seems unlikely that Evanilson, who has barely played first-team football, could arrive and provide proper backup for the world’s best attackers – but if the initial report is true and we’ve sounded him out as a potential bargain – then he could temporarily take Brewster’s spot as the U23 striker and the ‘6th option’ behind Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane, Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri.
