It looks like Liverpool will be signing Takumi Minamino in January for just £7.25m, Reds.
James Pearce has claimed on Twitter that a deal is ‘highly likely’ after the Reds moved to secure the Japan international amidst interest from Serie A, the Bundesliga and Manchester United.
Minamino excelled against Liverpool in both Champions League ties, and at just 24-years-old, is at the perfect age to reach the next level.
He can play in multiple positions across the frontline and we imagine this versatility was a big factor in Jurgen Klopp taking the plunge.
In fairness, for the money we’re about to spend, it’s risk free.
On Twitter, fans celebrated the astuteness of Michael Edwards to move for Minamino.
It’s not the first time our sporting director has gone and done something impressive in a transfer window, and we doubt it’ll be the last!
We have to wait for official confirmation of the deal, of course, but this one looks very much like it’s going to happen.

And Minamino is available for freakin' £7.5m. This will be an absolute genius singing if Klopp and Edwards pull it off.
