Liverpool are on the verge of signing Takumi Minamino, after agreeing a £7.25m deal with Rb Salzburg for his signature.
The Japan international’s release-clause has been triggered by the Reds, who were mightily impressed with the 24-year-old in both the home and away games against his side in the Champions League this term.
The news broke today from nowhere – with no journalists or ‘ITKs’ predicting the move was close.
But eagle-eyed Liverpool fans have today spotted a Twitter post from Minamino following our 4-3 Anfield victory on October 3, that hints at a potential switch…
“Almost 5 years since transferring overseas,” he said. “I am glad that I’m on the best stage to test if I am growing up now. But I want to grow more…”

With Minamino, the Reds will be boosted in our quest for both Premier League and Champions League glory this season.
You can check the Best football betting sites and put some money on Jurgen Klopp’s brilliant Reds if you think we can do the business in either, or both!
With an eight point lead at the top of the Premier League table, we’re favourites to secure our first title in 30 years, but who would bet against our chances in Europe, too?
After all, Klopp has never lost a two-legged European tie since joining Liverpool in 2015.
