Rival fans have been making jokes at the expense of Liverpool and VAR for a few weeks now, and they really couldn’t be more misguided.

Bobby Firmino had a goal ruled out a few weeks back against Aston Villa, because his armpit was ruled offside. Big question – can you score a goal with your armpit? I’d have guessed not.

History repeated itself as a Sadio Mane header was ruled offside against Watford, as his armpit was seemingly adjudicated to be in an offside position via VAR.
