“You like watching us suffering” – Klopp hits out at stacked LFC schedule

Jurgen Klopp has never kept his opinions to himself when it comes to talking about how busy of a schedule Liverpool – and other top teams – have.

The Reds are expected to play two games within 24 hours of each other in the coming week, just as an example, one in London and one in Qatar, but have had no assistance from the FA or FIFA with that.

So the boss has been forced to split his team down the middle – a completely different lineup, with a substitute manager, will take on Aston Villa in the League Cup while Klopp travels for the Club World Cup with a more senior-looking squad.

The German’s latest comments, after Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Watford are probably his quite scathing, as the suggestion of an even more stacked schedule was brought up.

The boss said “you like watching us suffering” and criticised other top clubs for wanting even more fixtures in the Champions League.

He’s right though – our busy schedule certainly hasn’t helped out Fabinho, Joel Matip, Dejan Lovren and Gini Wijnaldum who all are currently forced out due to injury.

You could argue that we should be able to cope with a stacked fixture list, and I partly agree, but I think we should have been given some assistance from the FA with the FIFA Club World Cup games.
