Liverpool fielded an unfamiliar youthful side against Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup earlier this week, but the young Reds got the result over the line and march on in the competition.
In fact, it was the youngest ever LFC starting XI – and Jurgen Klopp wasn’t even present, as U23s coach Neil Critchley took charge of the fixture.
That doesn’t mean the game was ignored by Liverpool’s senior staff – not by a long shot – as the players shared their support on social media.
