Liverpool are set to make Greek left-back Kostas Tsimikas their first signing of the summer transfer window in the coming days.
The defender is currently plying his trade at Olympiacos in Athens, but there’s something in his history that ties him to Anfield.
Tsimikas spent a season on loan at Willem II in the Netherlands, where both Sami Hyypia and Virgil van Dijk spent portions of their careers.
It doesn’t really mean anything, but a quirky little link that perhaps serves as a good omen for Liverpool!
