(Video) Shocking moment referee blows half-time whistle early despite Liverpool attack

Posted by

Liverpool fans were left fuming last night as referee Paul Tierney blew the half-time whistle with six seconds left on the clock.

Despite their being a ‘minimum of one minute of added time’, this normally wouldn’t have been that big of a deal – but context is required.

The exact moment Tierney called an end to the half, Xherdan Shaqiri had just played a lovely through ball to Sadio Mane, who looked set for a chance on goal.

It’s a highly talked about point from last night’s game, unfortunately – and you can see for yourself the incident in the video below (via Satanta Sports):

  1. Disgusting.Liverpool are up against it from the very first game of the season. We are now playing against the opposition parking double decker busses, the referees and VAR.The premier league referees and VAR will decide who is going to be champions.
Loosing my appetite for the game.Week in week out you don’t know what’s going to happen with the decisions that are being made by the referees and VAR.
They can throw whatever they want at us we will still persevere and do what we do best, start scoring goals and win matches..YNWA
