The Alisson/Pickford picture has caused quite a stir on Twitter

We’re sure you will have seen the picture by now.

It shows a bemused Jurgen Klopp looking at Alisson talking to Jordan Pickford like he’s his best mate on Saturday evening.

Liverpool had just put in another tepid performance and lost 2-0 to Everton. The man who ruined our season, really, is Pickford – whose savagely reckless ended Virgil van Dijk’s campaign back in October – so the image really hit home for many Reds.

What do we think of it? We don’t know, really. It’s a little annoying, but it doesn’t show the players don’t care – it’s just perhaps a little silly of the goalkeeper not to wait until he’s in the tunnel.

The reaction on Twitter was pretty extreme, but considering we’ve lost six Premier League matches in 2021, it usually is at the moment.

We don’t think it’s that bad – and we don’t think Roberto Firmino liking Richarlison’s picture is the end of the world either.

It’s just maybe a case of the two Brazilians not thinking before doing.

  1. How quickly people forget! Shankley once said that football is more important than life or death. He was wrong.
When Hillsborough happened, the whole of football supported LFC through the crisis. At the forefront of those supporting us was Everton Football Club and their supporters. Last weekend we lost a foorball match that we didn’t deserve to win. There was a time that red and blues watched the match together with good humour and banter. Stop this childishness and get back to being good supporters instead of this nit-picking of people from opposing sides speaking to each other. Go and look at some archives about how people use to go to Anfield one week and Goodison the next. For goodness sake we are all facing difficulties in our everyday life and the last thing we need to be reading is the pettiness of losing a football match. Get some perspective!!

  2. yep, spot on. you know what, as much as we want to be able to blame someone for a shite season, the truth is that Pickford alone did not ruin our season. was it a foul, yes,. should it have been a pen ? yes,. was it a red card? probably, Did he intend to injure VVD ? no I dont think so, things like that happen when you have less than a blink of an eye to react. I was angry at the time but seriously, there are so many reasons we are not winning atm, but to suggest it is solely down to Pickford and losing VVD is an insult to the rest of the lads. The way some of us carry on you’d think VVD won it by hiself last year? FFS we are bigger than one man as good as he undoubtedly is so give the Pickford crap a rest, its done and over with. There is still a lot to play for and we’re NOT out if it yet.

  3. Pickford hurt/broke vvd’s knee, spoiling our entire season. Pickford’s unapologetic comments confirmed intention which the FA disregarded for retrospective punishment. Richarlison got even a red for lunging into Thiago, destroying our new creativity. Now come 2 Brazilians going against derby tradition at Anfield, moreover 🤔🤔.
Does Do or Die Mentality still exist?
