Some eagle-eyed Liverpool fans spotted an interesting moment in TV show ‘The Mentalist’ in which a character talks about the Reds’ injury problems.
The intriguing thing is the episode of the show aired before the reigning Premier League champions’ ongoing season fell apart – in no small part because of Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip’s fitness – leading the series to be described as ‘The New Simpsons’ by one supporter.
Fair play to the writers of the show, who have seemingly nailed what would become of the 2020/21 season for Liverpool (and many other teams), littered with injury problems.
