Jordan Henderson was on the receiving end of a horrific tackle from West Ham full-back Aaron Creswell in the eighth minute of the game but to the bemusement of many, the referee failed to even award a free-kick.
The tackle was checked by VAR’s Stuart Attwell but he also deemed the tackle acceptable – a decision that will undoubtedly baffle many a Liverpool fan.
The captain’s safety was certainly endangered so it was strange to see no action taken against the Merseyside-born Hammers star.

VAR, Pawson and Gallagher are having a piss poor game. Cresswell should have seen red. No consistency, whatsoever.
If a player goes in horizontal, both feet off the ground, studs showing, it IS a reckless and dangerous tackle and is a coward’s tackle in a 50-50 challenge. Cresswell should have been sent off, and the fact that Pawson does not even give free kick is evidence of his piss-poor game. Did LFC deserve to win, No. They also did not deserve to lose. Pawson and VAR – all of you had your eyes in your ass today!
