In what was one of the greatest midfield performances that has been seen under Jurgen Klopp, Thiago Alcantara was on fire against Manchester United.
Our No.6 just oozes class in everything he does and it felt like he didn’t put a single foot wrong in the entire game against Ralf Rangnick’s side.
Brilliant passing, quick footwork, important tackles and blocks – the Spanish international was impervious and it really is a joy just to watch him play football.
He was awarded a phenomenal standing ovation when he left the pitch with 10 minutes remaining and the name of the 31-year-old was ringing out, around an adoring Anfield.
It was a complete performance from the former Bayern Munich man and it really feels like he’s hitting his best form of the season, at just the right time.
Let’s hope this continues and his performances remain at this high level, as well as his fitness, as we enter the final stages of a memorable season.
