Supercomputer predicts where Liverpool, Arsenal & Tottenham will finish in Premier League title race

You could forgive neutrals for scoffing at the idea of Liverpool coming anywhere close to the Premier League title in the aftermath of what was a truly disastrous campaign by the Reds’ lofty standards.

Yet, following what has been a largely impressive start to the campaign from Jurgen Klopp’s men – with six wins, two draws and one sole defeat secured from nine league games – the Merseysiders now find themselves in the top four and within touching distance of the summit.

Such is the nature of the turnaround that Opta Analyst’s season simulator now has attributed a 12.9% chance of winning the Premier League to Liverpool – ahead of Arsenal (8.2%) and Tottenham (1.5%).

Hold off on the celebrations for now…

We do have to situate such odds against the stark reality of Manchester City’s brilliance in recent years under Pep Guardiola – and that has been reflected by their own positive start to 2023/24, not to mention in their jaw-dropping odds (76% chance) of retaining their league crown.

Whilst we’re close to passing that pivotal 10-game mark, it’s still early days, and there’s plenty of time left for us to build up some momentum once more, especially ahead of a gentle run of fixtures before our 12:30pm meeting with the Sky Blues after the November international break.

Come away with a share of the spoils at the Etihad or, dare we even think it, the full three points, and you can bet your bottom dollar that Opta’s simulated odds will have tweaked significantly.
