Liverpool have had a host of great players in our history but for a certain generation of supporters, nobody comes close to Robbie Fowler.
Speaking on The Football Historian Podcast, comedian Rob Thomas named the Scouser as his all-time favourite player and said: “Fowler’s No.1, just because he’s god – he was my idol when I was growing up, he was everything.
“Still now, I could meet Mac Allister or Van Dijk now it would be: ‘oh, sound, yeah’ but if I met Fowler – I would still fall to bits.”

The love for the forward continued from the comedian, who went on to name his all-time top five players from his time as a fan.
Few can argue against the talents of the Toxteth Terror and he will always be god to a large group of Reds.

Yeah Fowler was good …Best finisher I’ve seen, probably ever ! Lethal! But I think it depends what age you are when naming your favourite All-time Red. Mine was Ian Rush, but then he left for Juve, so Johnny Barnes became my fav! And it’s stayed that way ever since …Digger for me !!
