I became a liverpool fan before a football fan. It wasn't about how liverpool played or who we had playing for us that won me over, It was the Kop. The first game i watched on Tv left me speechless.Every time i watch LFC i then wait for the moment. The moment that brings chills down my spine every time. I’d turn up the volume and wait...wait for the camera men to close their eyes and point the camera in any random direction in the Anfield crowd. Cos’ they know no matter where they point that camera they’re going to zoom into a group or an individual fan that has his/her scarf over their heads singing their hearts out, like it was the last time they’d ever see Liverpool play again. That's passion..That's Liverpool, you can't buy it, you can only admire it. Not even during a war do you see a group of people sing an anthem with so much passion. If i wasn't already in love, Istanbul pushed things to a whole new level. I had the honour of sitting amongst the Kop last year and being a part of that atmosphere..even though we lost that game the chants and songs from that night will never stop ringing in my heart and mind. I try my best to carry that passion along with me to my writing.
