The reports coming out of Brazil seem pretty solid. Globoesporte claim that Hoffenheim’s 23-year-old attacking midfielder is expected to sign a five-year deal for Liverpool, with the Reds paying the Germans a bargain £18m fee.
Naturally, Liverpool fans got enormously excited upon waking up and hearing the news this morning – but are we jumping the gun?
We’ve seen in recent windows that a Liverpool transfer is not done until it’s done. So while we’re hopeful, we urge caution!
So Firmino looks like a direct replacement for Sterling, which leaves us a spare £25m for a striker and DM, Bacca and Illarramendi?

“Firmino to Liverpool seems likely. But don’t get excited until it’s done” (Paulo Freitas – Brazilian Sky Sports Correspondent) — Mr_CallumWright (@Mr_CallumWright) June 23, 2015
If Firmino signs I would give him the number 7 shirt too. He is that type of player! The number 7 is normally for an idol and he could be 1.

It’s funny because Firmino is way better than Sterling hahaha — Manion (@TheWackyDip) June 23, 2015
It was Kovacic all over the timeline last week. This week it’s Roberto Firmino. #LFC

Id flog sterling today to get Firmino in. — Lazzar (@Jac_Larry) June 23, 2015
@FinklerQuestion Imagine getting Bacca, Firmino and Clyne with the Sterling Money! Ronnie Biggs would be proud!

If #lfc can sell sterling and use half the money to buy firmino then it’s a no brainer.
