About Us

Empire of the Kop is a specialist Liverpool news service created by Liverpool FC supporting professional journalists.

We report on all the latest LFC news that matters and we publish a wide variety of perspectives on our club from our fans in the hope of prompting constructive debate about contentious issues.

We welcome opinionated and unfiltered contributions from all Liverpool fans from all parts of the world – both in the comments section and as original editorial as well – but we do also employ a professional team of writers to report the news and ensure the factual accuracy and good taste from the contributions we receive.

Fair, but not impartial, Empire of the Kop was founded in 2008.

Writers: Anyone is welcome to submit an article (Even if English is not your native tongue). If you are interested in writing (in any language) please email editor@fanatix.com.

Respect: Of course we will never allow or tolerate anything that dis-respects the dead, urges violence or is racist and/or xenophobic in nature. This is not banter but utter hatred which has no place in any civilised society.

Income: All content of the site is free, there is no charge for readers or visitors of the site. The site’s only source of income is advertising, we don’t sell (and never have sold) any products ourselves. If you see any products advertised on the site, they are always sold by a 3rd party. In terms of profitability, unfortunately the site has yet to break even, our hosting costs are pretty high as we have dedicated servers to handle the traffic volumes we receive.

All of the content published on Empire of the Kop written by paid or unpaid contributors is about Liverpool Football Club. We do also publish sponsored content and advertorial on the site and it should be immediately obvious where this is the case because of the topics involved, the calls-to-action and the outbound links that typically appear in such content (any such advertorial or paid-for content sold on the service is subject to a maximum 12 month term).

It should also be immediately obvious that all references to gambling sites and products that may appear on the site and within the editorial indicate a commercial relationship of some description.

Charities: The site supports various charities including the HJC, HFSG, 23 Foundation, Marina Dalglish Foundation and many others. We support in various ways including of course spreading the word to our readers and Twitter followers and we also make donations.

Social Media: Of course our strength has been our use of social media make sure you follow us on Twitter @empireofthekop , like us on Facebook or join our Google + circle.
