Well this is a turn up for the books!
Liverpool were due to partake in an open training session in Kualar Lumpur today at the National Stadium, but at the last minute, decided to instead play a friendly versus local Malaysian side Felda United.
James Pearce from the Echo live tweeted the match, and you can check out the lineup, the goal-scorers and the events in his timeline which we’ve extracted below.
Interestingly, the starting XI suggests much about our potential team to play Malaysia XI tomorrow in the proper friendly.
Mamadou Sakho and Kolo Toure started in central defence, meaning Martin Skrtel and Dejan Lovren are likely to play Friday.
A hat-trick from Ings, and one each from Markovic, Chirivella, Ojo, Teixeira (who bagged from 40-yards), sealed the romp – which will get fans not expecting a Liverpool fixture today talking!

Because of its impromptu nature, there are no proper video clips of the game watched by 5,000 Malaysians, but we hope some fan clips emerge soon which we can share accordingly.
Rather than train here, #LFC have instead decided to hold a practise match against local team Felda United.

Ings with a sweet finish into corner for his second. 5-0 to #LFC. Wilson then should have made it six but fluffed his kick.

An absolute worldie from Teixeira makes it 6-0. 40 yarder sailed over the stranded keeper. #LFCTour

And with the last kick of the game Ings makes it 7 to complete his hat-trick. #LFCtour. The Felda boys took one hell of a beating.
