A truly horrific injury did not allow Djibril Cisse to truly fulfil his potential at Liverpool.
Saying that, the Frenchman scored a penalty as we won the Champions League in that AC Milan shootout of 2005.
He also found the net in normal time in the FA Cup final a year later.
Overall, Cisse’s Reds record of 24 goals in 79 games made him a very tidy player for us.
He’s not a Liverpool legend though, unlike Steven Gerrard.
Gerrard is such a hero that Cisse’s son, Prince Kobe, looked on totally mesmerised as he watched a YouTube compilation of our former captain over breakfast this morning.
The below video was posted on Instagram by the boy’s mother and Djibril’s ex-wife, Jude Cisse.
Dijbril Cisse's son is a big #LFC fan. What Gerrard's goals do to his face is priceless😂⚽️Vid from Jude Cisse via IG pic.twitter.com/hkqhCmwpzB

Jude added the caption: “I’ve never met a child like this… always watching football! Lives & breathes it, don’t know whether to laugh or cry”.
Don’t worry Prince, I still gawk when I see Steven Gerrard highlights too!
