Trying to decide on one standout memory is extremely difficult for past and present Liverpool players. There have been so many special moments.

Liverpool will come up against a former player this weekend when West Ham full-back Alvaro Arbeloa comes to Anfield.

The Spaniard has looked back on a famous Champions League win over one of Europe’s best teams during his time with the Reds.

He told whufc.com: “For me every game that I played at Anfield was amazing and I remember beating Real Madrid 4-0 at Anfield which was a great night and it was an amazing final season that I had there when we were fighting for the title with Manchester United.”

“I played with some great players like Steven Gerrard, Javier Mascherano, Fernando Torres and they are legends at the Club.”

Arbeloa was relatively solid at right-back during his time at the club and was part of a Liverpool team that fought hard with Manchester United for the title and that just lost out in a Champions League final against AC Milan.

The 33-year-old will pushing friendships to one side this weekend, though.

West Ham enter the game on the back of a six game winless run in all competitions and currently sit just one point above the relegation zone in the Premier League.

With pressure mounting on manager Slaven Bilić, Arbeloa and his teammates will be out to snatch a victory that would potentially kick start their season.

It’s for this reason that we can take nothing for granted. We are certain that won’t be the case anyway given what happened against Bournemouth.
