The arrival of new signings in the summer transfer window looks to be inevitable now after Jurgen Klopp’s difficulty this month in bringing in his main and very specific targets.
Some have turned on the Reds boss for his lack of activity having failed to truly consider how pointless it would be for the German to bring in a player he doesn’t feel could improve this squad.
He has his unique methods and unique approach to managing Liverpool and we all have to respect that.
Steven Gerrard, however, has tipped Klopp to strengthen his squad in the summer as ideal players become available.
“I think come the summer you’ll see four or five additions,” he told BT Sport via the Liverpool Echo.
It can’t be helped that the right players weren’t there to be signed this month and we are confident Klopp can drive the squad he has to bounce back after a tough month.
New faces will be needed when the window re-opens and the manner in which we finish the season will be key in determining the level of quality we can actually attract.
Injuries of late have exposed a slight lack of strength in depth which we are sure will be addressed come the end of the season.
