Mane shows his class with plans to make Reds fans proud

Sadio Mane has not only bought into the Liverpool way of life on the pitch but he has taken to the club’s historic fans and acknowledged their importance in admirable fashion.

He has been at the heart of two emphatic wins over Tottenham and Arsenal over the last month and is sure to be an influential figure when Burnley travel to Anfield on Sunday.

Speaking ahead of tomorrow’s game, the Senegalese forward has stressed the need for a strong display in order to continue making amends for a lacklustre start to 2017.

He told Liverpoolfc.com: “Now we have to prove we are back on track and back in the winning way, and that we have a great team and great players. We have to give everything.”

“It’s one of the [most] important games of the season. If we want to be in the top four we have to win, starting Sunday, and make our special fans proud.”

“We are a team who takes risks. It’s not to say we can’t take risks; if you want to win, you have to do that. We’re looking forward to the game and we’re ready.”

“Burnley are a good team. We’re going to try to take it like we did against Tottenham at home and Arsenal at home. We’ll do everything to win the game, because it’s very important.”

Three points are a must tomorrow, just as they are for every game until the end of the season.

It’s time to return to normality and reproduce the kind of displays that punished teams of the same calibre as Burnley earlier on in the season.

Sunday’s game promises to be a useful insight into how much the players have learnt, how much Klopp has learnt and how strongly Liverpool can finish this season.
