(Video) Stevie G proves he’s still got it with dominant display for Reds Legends

Anfield staged a moment to remember and one to cherish for ever yesterday as Steven Gerrard put his Liverpool shirt back on and graced the pitch he had already created so many memories for us on.

Seeing his distinctive walk back where it belonged was special enough, not to mention him spraying 40-yard cross field passes, making bursting runs from deep and hammering the cross-bar from 30-yards out.

It was truly a pleasure to see how much being back meant to him and just how special a moment it was for the fans that travelled to watch him.

The cries of ‘shoot’ practically every time he received the ball in the second half typified how desperate those inside Anfield were to see their hero score in front of the Kop again. When the goal did eventually arrive, the crowd celebration was reminiscent to one we would see in a Premier League game, not a Charity match.

Simply having his presence in and around the club again is something all Reds can take joy from. It was a performance that once again made us wonder just how much a 24-year-old Stevie G would be worth in the modern transfer market.
