Lovren shows perfect attitude for Liverpool’s Champions League run-in

All Liverpool’s players can do during the build up to each of their final four games is train hard and show the right attitude and Dejan Lovren has done just that.

It is the time of the season for the Reds to apply every bit of energy they have left and prove they are brave enough and determined enough to secure a place in next season’s Champions League.

Failing to cement that top four spot would be considered a huge disappointment given the promise Lovren and his teammates have shown throughout the season.

Speaking ahead of tonight’s game against Watford at Vicarage Road, the Croatian has expressed the need for the right mentality as well as how desperate he is to achieve what he believes this team deserves.

“We are focused on our style of the game – we want to attack, we want to score goals, we have something to reach for,” Lovren told Liverpoolfc.com.

“Mentally, we have to be prepared for the game, even though it’s not like playing Manchester City, where you will find motivation without any big reason. We have a big reason – it’s the final four games for the Champions League.”

“I always believe. I believe in the team and I believe in every single person who believes in us. This is the most important thing.”

“I think we would deserve it at the end because of how well we’ve done for all of the season. I am pretty sure we will see each other in the Champions League.”

Confidence, a motivation to thrive under pressure and a belief in the entire team- exactly the kind of mentality required at this stage and the mentality Jurgen Klopp will have strived to install into his players.

With Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal all dropping points over the weekend, this evening’s game poses as a valuable opportunity to extend the gap once again and, in turn, put pressure on those below us to respond.

If Lovren’s comments are anything to go by, the players are ready for this fight.
