Chris Sutton is never short of an opinion or two, and this time he has reiterated his stance that Virgil van Dijk is the best player in the world on current form.
Sutton has previously conceded that few are likely to agree with him because Van Dijk is a defensive player, but he certainly has a point.

To even have a player in the conversation – or two with Mo Salah as well – shows exactly where Liverpool are at right now.
The Reds are top of the league and deservedly so – and Van Dijk has been a major factor in that. If he continues his incredibly good performances, then we have a real chance of the title this season.
