Borussia Dortmund drop Christian Pulisic clue with transfer enquiry

Borussia Dortmund have reportedly started preparing for life without Christian Pulisic amid speculation linking him to Liverpool and Chelsea.

The USA international is set to leave the German club next year ahead of the expiry of his current contract in June 2020.

Jurgen Klopp is known to be a long-term admirer of Pulisic, who has regularly been tipped as an ideal replacement for Philippe Coutinho.

Dortmund are believed to be open to agreeing a £70million deal for the playmaker in January – providing he stays with the Bundesliga leaders until the end of the season.

They have now also made contact over a potential deal for Borussia Monchengladbach’s Thorgan Hazard, according to RMC Sport.

Pulisic has managed just five starts in the league so far this campaign, beginning on the bench six times and missing four games through injury.

His limited involvement has predominantly been down to the form of former Manchester City starlet Jadon Sancho and Danish winger Jacob Bruun Larsen.

The 20-year-old is said to favour a move to Anfield over Stamford Bridge due to the likelihood of regular minutes under Klopp.

Despite having primarily plied his trade in a wider role, Pulisic has displayed the vision and creativity in compact areas designed to see him evolve into the kind of central playmaker Liverpool remain in search of.
