We don’t want to go over the top about a 16-year-old who is very likely not going to feature much this season – but Harvey Elliott doesn’t half look decent.
The teenager, signed from Fulham this summer, came on for Liverpool and looked totally unfazed.
Elliott showed nice touches, wanted to get on the ball the entire time and had a 30-yard rippling effort which was unlucky not to find the back of the net.
Obviously, the hard work for Elliott starts now and a few nice cameos in a pre-season will not define his success.
But one thing is obvious: his talent. Now, he has to put in the hard graft to fulfil it.
The likes of Jordan Henderson and James Milner will keep him grounded – but ultimately – the responsibility to make the most of his outrageous potential.
Elliott not looking out of place at all amongst the first team

Harvey Elliott reminds me of Bernardo Silva. Obviously not as good but very similar styles of play.

Harvey Elliott looks good. 16yo. Really good on the ball. Seems to have a bit of tenacity about him aswell.

Incredible confidence by Elliott so far. Good runs and a good shot at range. Seems to fit into the team
