Gary Neville’s Reds love in continues as he makes big claim about ‘outstanding’ trio

Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville says he has no doubts that Pep Guardiola would very happily swap his front three for the Reds’ attacking trio because Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane are better than their Manchester City counterparts.

City’s front three of Raheem Sterling, Sergio Aguero and Bernardo Silva is not exactly terrible, while they have the likes of Riyad Mahrez and Leroy Sane in reserve, but Neville – quite rightly – says Jurgen Klopp’s front three is better.

Speaking on the Gary Neville Podcast, via the Daily Star, he said: “I’ve said this numerous times in the last 18 months, City’s front three are brilliant, but that front three at Liverpool are better.

“I think if you said to Pep would you swap your front three, he’d say yes. And that’s something that is high praise indeed because City’s front three are outstanding.”

On commentary at the weekend, Neville was also waxing lyrical about the Reds’ front three, so it’s not the first time he’s said it.

If the Reds are to beat City to the title this season, and it’s already looking like it will be between Klopp and Guardiola’s sides once again, then Salah, Firmino and Mane will, of course, be crucial.

They have already started the season in excellent form and will be looking to build on that against Burnley next weekend as the Reds look to make it four wins from four in the Premier League.
