  1. Ideal would be Xabi staying and Silva coming too but the world of football isn’t perfect I suppose
Xabi will be missed was excellent for us particularly last season

  2. Best letting xabi go if he isn’t happy. Rumour has it that it will be 22 million + Negredo or Sneijder and with the rest going on Silva, its all looking rather promising

  3. I would not go with the papers. I’m not saying he is not going but I don’t see Alonso saying he wants to leave or that Rafa wants Sliva. Yet the papers say so. For all we know Alonso will go and Rafa buys Aquilani. It’s funny that the press seems to know more than Rafa at times.

If we do pay up for Silva who is going to play Alonso role in the team? Do we have the money to replace him after we buy Silva? I think Lucas could do the job now but he is not quite there in terms of authority in the middle just yet. Aquilani and silva would be a dream but I just don’t see it.

Rafa is so hard to read I have no clue what we will do.

  4. So sad to see Xabi go! If only Rafa had been more cordial to him! Ah well. Walk on, Xabi! YNWA

  5. It will be a sad day indeed. But I believe it was easy to predict given the treatment he got last season. It is only because the Barry deal fell through that he wasn’t sold.

Just shows what a magnificent spirit the man has. He decided to stay and prove to the world just how wrong they were to want to sell him in the first place. He also did himself a big favour by having such a great season. He also did Rafa a big favour. I believe the club is both richer and poorere for losing Xabi.

  6. in the end, he left. what a bad news! but rafa’s choice of Silva can be good, but not good enough 4 a replacement

  7. OH no this is so sad to see him gone. He will always remember his best trademark I never forgot to see him goal from far away in the field and he didn’t do once he did this more than any footballers to shoot the ball far away to the net like he got cannons in his pairs. New player always make me nervous because I like to see the reds win the league cup so I want to see is win the game if new players can do much better than I see the awful Robbie means do to the Reds. I always miss Xavi Alonso and his longest goals

    hasta la vista Xavi

  8. ALONSO CAN NOT Sell..
he really needed to Liverpool player.
he is pass(Middle earth) a good player.
If he has problems in midfield. so he is never player.
Silva signing do not sell alonso
If have not money………Yankee bastards out.

  9. I am still clinging to the unguided hope that this deal does not happen. I am always sceptical on new foreign players coming to the Premier League. It is a different game from Spain, to be honest, do we need a player that will require time to adapt in our title chasing season?

United, with their signings(or whatever you’d like to call them) all have PL experience, no introductions needed. All the whiz kids they have, have been building up on the clashes through reserves, before hitting the main stage.

So the question really is, how fast will Silva adapt to PL style of play? We have had plenty of Spanish flops as well as our success’.

  10. if u are top palyer u will adapt esyly to the PL,
after kigen left came the king. so we jut need to see what happen.
