Report: Spanish midfielder & agent spotted at Melwood

Malaga midfielder Ignacio Camacho & his agent were allegedly spotted at Liverpool’s Melwood training ground on Thursday.

This report comes from Read Liverpool, which does not give it great credibility, but it seems a bit of a random one to fabricate.

Read Liverpool claim that Camacho flew to Liverpool from Malaga, and was driven to Melwood along with his representative.

They do not give an explanation for Camacho’s presence but speculate that it could be with a view to a summer move to Anfield.

The 25-year-old was linked with a switch to Liverpool a couple of years ago and may remain on the radar of our transfer committee.

He is a defensive midfielder who has one cap for Spain and 159 La Liga appearances under his belt for Malaga and Atletico Madrid.

Injuries have restricted to Camacho to 11 outings for Malaga this season – seven of which have come since the end of the winter break.

Jurgen Klopp is expected to be busy in the summer, but we signed midfielder Marko Grujic in January to bolster our midfield options.

The centre of the park is not a priority area for improvements, although Joe Allen and Lucas Leiva face uncertain futures beyond the summer and that could open the door for Camacho, if there is indeed interest from our side.
