(Video) Mignolet stops Spurs scoring potentially game-changing goal

Simon Mignolet has been the subject of some strong criticism of late but can feel a lot better about himself today after helping Liverpool to a valuable clean sheet.

The Belgian keeper went some way towards atoning for his error against Hull last weekend by making an important save to keep the score-line at 2-0 during the first half of yesterday’s win against Tottenham.

It was a moment that could have changed the game and both Jurgen Klopp and his players will have been grateful to see Mignolet put his shot-stopping qualities into practice.

One rare occasion in the match saw Liverpool’s defence breached as Son Heung-min found himself one-on-one with the keeper before his eventual shot was well saved by the legs of Mignolet.

Momentum could have swung in Tottenham’s favour and the Reds can thank their man between the sticks for coming out on top on one of the only occasions he was called into action.
