Wantaway Championship left-back rumoured to be keen on move to Liverpool

We were getting concerned for a minute that there wasn’t any transfer rumours to discuss.

A new name seems to have been linked to Liverpool every day since the transfer window actually closed with a quiet January fuelling suggestions that the club could be in for a busy summer.

Every area of the pitch will be addressed if you choose to believe the various reports that have been circulating but the left-back position in particular has emerged as an obvious priority.

Leeds United’s Charlie Taylor is the man in question with the 23-year-old reportedly keen to leave the Championship promotion hopefuls in the summer.

The Yorkshire Evening Post’s Phil Haye reported: “United’s new co-owner, Andrea Radrizzani, bought into Leeds with the quiet hope of initiating discussions about Taylor’s future but the 23-year-old appears set on leaving when the season ends. Sources close to him believe a move to Liverpool is possible, although any club signing him will be forced to pay United compensation on account of his age.”

Taylor is out of contract in the summer meaning however it remains to be seen how he will be influenced by where Leeds finish in the table.

Promotion to England’s top flight would undoubtedly make it difficult for him to turn his back on Garry Monk’s side.

We suspect this is one to keep an eye on.
