Priority LFC transfer target reveals plans to discuss his future

RB Leipzig’s Naby Keita has emerged as one of Jurgen Klopp’s key transfer targets with the Liverpool boss intent on bolstering the spine of his team.

The midfielder has been subject to high praise for his all-action displays in a season that has seen Leipzig rise to second in the Bundesliga having only been promoted to Germany’s top flight last summer.

Keita has drawn interest from a number of top European clubs yet Liverpool seemingly remain confident they will be able to land the 22-year-old.

The man in question had been relatively quiet on his situation, up until recently when he hinted at plans to consider his future.

“I’m very comfortable at Leipzig. There are still three games to go, that’s what I’m concentrating on. My agent takes care of everything else,” he told German newspaper Bild, as reported by the Liverpool Echo.

“When it’s time, I’ll discuss it with him and my family.”

Qualifying for the Champions League appears a must if the Reds wish to lure a man who is already promised that if he remains with his current employers.

Comparisons between Keita himself and Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante have fuelled the excitement surrounding what the Guinean could potentially offer in the Premier League. While such comparisons are still somewhat loose, they do reaffirm the belief that he could be a crucial midfield asset to any team, especially to a Liverpool side keen on strengthening defensively. He has also scored eight goals this season which introduces another trait managers will undoubtedly be drawn to.
