Jurgen Klopp is close to having his entire squad back at Melwood as Liverpool prepare for their Premier League opener against West Ham.

The Reds welcomed back Jordan Henderson and Simon Mignolet on Sunday following their progression to the World Cup semi-finals with England and Belgium.

Dejan Lovren is also expected to re-join his teammates in training on Monday following Croatia’s defeat in the final to France.

Tuesday’s concluding pre-season match at home to Torino is likely to come too soon for the trio, who could also miss the meeting with Manuel Pellegrini’s side at Anfield this coming Sunday.

Henderson’s international teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold returned slightly earlier than his captain having featured just once in Russia.

The teenager made his first pre-season appearance in Saturday’s 5-0 thumping of Napoli in Dublin and should be available to start against West Ham.

Henderson’s late introduction could see summer signing Fabinho trusted to start in the no.6 role as Liverpool get their campaign underway.

Simon Mignolet’s presence at Melwood may prove to be short-lived, with the goalkeeping having been tipped to leave the club before Thursday’s deadline.

The arrival of Alisson from Roma for a world-record £65million has pushed Mignolet further down the pecking order on Merseyside and resulted in his agent admitting to a consideration of his future.

Meanwhile, Lovren’s late reintegration leaves Klopp with a selection dilemma on his hands in regards to deciding on a partner for Virgil van Dijk.

Joe Gomez is a leading contender to slot in beside the Dutchman following Joel Matip’s injury setback against Borussia Dortmund during the club’s tour of America.
