There are some Liverpool FC players serving their country in the Euros where most of them are from England. Some of them have been performing great to provide advantage to their nation while some has not got a chance yet. Here is a list of how kopite players have been performing in their Euros campaign.
Steven Gerrard: Stevie G has been given an honor to lead England throughout the tournament. His Euros 2012 campaign has been great as he started right away from England’s opening goal in the tournament by Lescott, where the captain fantastic provided a superb assist on a free kick. Additionally he also provided fine long cross on a 3-2 win against Sweden. Not only assists, Gerrard has been actively involved in defending the team as the Englishman provided great defending role in a match against France where England gained 1 point. Gerrard has been showing play-making role in Euros 2012.
Andy Carroll: Andy Carroll, former Newcastle man did not show up in the first game against France but he proved worthy for English football team as the 6ft 3in giant was able to convert long cross from his skipper into a goal through a fine header. He played 90 minutes on the same game where he scored in a clash against Sweden.
Glen Johnson: Johnson has been other man along with Gerrard from LFC to feature on both the games for England. He has been average throughout the tournament having returned from an injury only in the late days of the premier league season. He has been unlucky despite of his good performance, as he conceded an own goal in 3-2 win against Sweden when he found Hart’s save from Mellberg hit him to cross the nets.
Jordan Henderson: Henderson who was Lampard’s replacement in the Euros has played 12 minutes in the tournament. He replaced Scott Parker in the first match but his 12 minutes of play at Donbass Arena was not much valuable for England.
Daniel Agger: Agger played very well as he captained his team superbly in the campaign but the result was detestable for Denmark who are ruled out of championship, in spite of Agger’s contribution to his nation. He was one of the hard working man in the tournament as he won almost all challenges he was forced to make at Danish defending line.
Likewise Pepe Reina, Downing and Kelly has not got a chance to play for their nation although they have been included in the 23 men squad.
It is definite that the player’s performance at European championship will help Liverpool on their coming campaign for 2011/2012. We wish luck to all the players from Liverpool who are playing for their nation.
