Banner writing competition and exhibition in Liverpool

Liverpool fans have the chance to win £5,000 for their witty banners thanks to a new competition from Tullamore D.E.W.

The Irish whiskey is inviting sports fans from across the UK to create new witty banners and Tweet photos of them at sporting events using the hashtag #bannerbanter

With Liverpool fans having a reputation across the world for their clever banner writing, this looks like a perfect competition for Anfield regulars.

To inspire your entries for the competition, Tullamore D.E.W. is bringing an exhibition called ‘The Art of Banner Banter’ to Liverpool this Saturday, the 6th April.

The exhibition showcases photos of some of the finest banners by fans and is displayed on board a customized double-decker bus, which will be situated in Williamson Square from 11am to 6pm on Saturday.

The touring exhibition bus also houses a whiskey bar for sampling Tullamore D.E.W.’s whiskey while you check out the exhibition of banners – which includes the classic ‘Shanks marmalized Milan/Paisley munched the Gladbach/Now Fagan’s making Roman ruins’ banner by Liverpool fans.

To enter Tullamore D.E.W.’s Art of Banner Banter competition, all you have to do is create a new witty banner (nothing offensive!), take a photo of it at a match and Tweet the photo using the hashtag #bannerbanter
