Reds hit man in his element this season.

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has reminded the world just why he is so highly regarded at the club this season, reaffirming Brendan Rodgers’ desire to keep him at Anfield when all that ugly transfer talk business reared its head over the summer.

Many thought that his days on Merseyside were numbered when he was slapped with a ten game ban at the business end of last season for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic, something that was just the latest in a long line of controversial incidents revolving around the player last term.

However, after fending off some serious interest from Arsenal during the off season and completing the remaining six games of his ban he has come back stronger than ever as Liverpool attempt to end their four year exile from Europe’s most elite competition, the UEFA Champions League.

Currently the Reds are sat in fourth spot in the Premier League table, just a point ahead of cross city rivals Everton in fifth, and after a strong start they have began to feel the effects of the plethora of serious injuries sustained by some key members of the squad, but they are still in with a strong chance of clocking up a much coveted top four spot.

And should they be so lucky, a large part of their success will be owed to Suarez, who has already notched up an astonishing 22 goals in 16 appearances in the Premier League so far, and the season is only halfway through.

And of his 22 goals so far, the have been six braces, one hat trick and an impressive four goal haul in his habitual destroying of Norwich City in December, and with England in Uruguay’s group at this summer’s World Cup he will be feeling in particularly buoyant mood, though he will have to be wary that he doesn’t come back hated once again. He has become more selfless in his play too, already clocking up 11 assists as he continues to form an SAS partnership with Daniel Sturridge.

It is rare that a player can turn public opinion so much by his performances on the pitch alone, but the 26-year-old has somehow managed to do just that and fans across the country have had no choice but to doth their caps at his talent.
