Reds one of countless teams chasing Anderlecht wonderkid…
Football agent Jacques Lichtenstein reckons that Liverpool are one of the European sides chasing his client Dennis Praet, reports the Mirror.
The 20-year-old currently plies his trade in his native Belgium for national champions Anderlecht, and heavily impressed in recent Champions League matches against Arsenal.
“Dennis will not go just anywhere. Clubs like Valencia, Liverpool, Arsenal or Atletico Madrid are eligible,” Lichtenstein said.
“He is not so far from the level of [the Premier League] where they can give him a year adjustment period.”
Praet prefers to play in a central no.10 role, but has also been used on either wing in an attacking midfield position, given licence to cut inside and play passes rather than beat his full-back for pace.
He’s technically gifted, and has an eye for a pass – but ultimately, isn’t what we need right now. Suso has impressed just as much when given a first-team opportunity, and the young Spaniard has struggled badly for game time this term because of the likes of Coutinho, Raheem Sterling and Adam Lallana (although he has been injured as well).
Instead, we need a pacy forward, a defensive midfielder, and any number of defenders ahead of playmakers.
