Is this the player who could solve a problem position for Brendan Rodgers?

Reports in Saturday morning’s press are suggesting that Liverpool are interested in Danish international Daniel Wass, while also revealing that his current employers – French side Evian – would be prepared to accept as little as £3.5m for his services.

Both the Daily Mirror and the Daily Express – who also claim interest from Chelsea – have linked us with the player, who has impressed with ten goals so far this season.

The 25-year-old started life as a right full-back, before developing into a right winger earlier this season. On paper, this makes him the ideal candidate to fill our troublesome right wing-back position, should Brendan Rodgers continue with our current 3-4-3 formation next season.

He has scored 23 goals in 125 league games for Evian, having joined the club from Benfica in 2012 after a year on loan. He made his Denmark debut in 2011 and has since collated 13 international caps.

His contract expires at the end of next season and according to the reports, Evian would be prepared to sell the player this summer to ensure that he doesn’t leave for nothing in 2016.
