Ben Gibson (Middlesbrough)
Another Championship starlet. The 22-year-old defender is already a veteran of the England youth-team and could just be starting to come into his prime. He’d put real pressure on the Reds current crop of centre-backs.
Radamel Falcao (AS Monaco / Manchester United)
It’s not worked out for him at Old Trafford but they always say that class is permanent. The 29-year-old Colombian scored 142 goals during four years at Porto and Atletico Madrid between 2009 and 2013.
Stephan El Shaarawy (AC Milan)
The 22-year-old Italian’s stock has fallen in recent years after a succession of injury problems. He scored 19 goals during the 2012-13 season but has only managed two in 23 games over the last two years. Surely needs a move.
Gerard Deulofeu (Barcelona / Sevilla)
A surprise inclusion. The former Everton man was a big hit in the blue half of Merseyside last season but has failed to back that up with his performances in La Liga this term. Could the Premier League be his spiritual home?
Ashley Williams (Swansea City)
Played under Brendan Rodgers at Swansea and could provide stiff competition for the likes of Martin Skrtel and Mamadou Sakho. The Welshman has proved his quality over several years now in the top flight.
