Brendan Rodgers is adamant that the club should offload the maverick Italian who only bagged one Premier League goal in 2015/16. He’s one of our highest paid players and the manager proved with his refusal to select him in the team that he clearly doesn’t think he suits our style. If we can get anywhere near the mooted £10m mentioned in the report, we should snap a potential buyer’s hands off. Fiorentina, Lazio and Sunderland are all interested and we should be actively encouraging bids. Borini doesn’t have top quality, despite his work-rate, but he’s never going to score the goals a proper Liverpool striker is expected to.
