Brendan Rodgers has given his pre-match press conference before Saturday’s clash with Aston Villa.
James Pearce at the Echo live blogged it, with questions about Rodgers’ future dominating proceedings.
The boss is under intense pressure with the penalty win over Carlisle doing little to ease doubts – but Rodgers is adamant he’s still the right man for the job.
Time will tell if this is the case, but there’s some really bad news regarding with injuries, with Rodgers revealing that Roberto Firmino may have broken a bone in his back on Wednesday.
If this is the case, he’s going to be a seriously long-term absentee.
Finally, Rodgers reiterated that he wants to be at Liverpool for as long as possible, confirming if anything – that he’s certainly not going to resign.
Rodgers: Benteke, Firmino and Lovren all out this weekend. Firmino may have cracked something in his back. Christian will be out too. #LFC
